Title: Shock Wave Theory
Abstract: We plan to survey the shock wave theory for hyperbolic conservation laws in one spatial dimension. There is the Glimm existence theory, Glimm-Lax decay theory and subsequent works on solution behavior, and the well-posedness theory with strong Italian inputs. The main challenge is to establish multi-dimensional shock wave theory. For this, we offer some suggestions.

Title: Green’s function and propagation of singularity for Boltzmann equation
Abstract : We will introduce a singular-regular decomposition of the Green’s function for a linearized Boltzmann equation and based on this decomposition one can decomposed the solution of the Boltzmann equation into regular-singular components. With the decomposition, one can study the propagation of the microscopic singularities.
