Energy Oriented Center of Excellence (EoCoE III): Fostering the European Energy Transition with Exascale

The Energy-oriented Centre of Excellence for exascale HPC applications (EoCoE-III) applies cutting-edge computational methods in its mission to foster the transition to decarbonized energy in Europe. EoCoE-III is anchored both in the High Performance Computing (HPC) community and in the energy field. It will demonstrate the benefit of HPC for the net-zero energy transition for research institutes and also for key industry in the energy sector. Tools for Modeling, Mapping, and Upscaling: the Role of Wetlands in Climate Change Mitigation

CNR-IAC, partner in the Horizon Europe RESTORE4Cs project and leader of a WP on modelling and scenario development, will host a project meeting in Rome, at the CNR premises of Via dei Taurini ,19, Rome, on 14-16 January, 2025. The meeting aims to showcase the project's proposed modelling approaches and discuss their integration with diverse data sources. This will help study the GHG mitigation potential of coastal wetlands and scale the findings to a European level and to different wetland types.

Prende l'avvio, con il nuovo anno, il ciclo di seminari generali 2025 dell'IAC. 

I workshop sono dedicati alle attività di ricerca in matematica applicata e sono pensati per un pubblico più vasto di quello del singolo settore di riferimento. Il linguaggio scelto, infatti, non è mai strettamente tecnico e mira a stimolare collaborazioni interdisciplinari.

Tutti i seminari sono trasmessi in streaming sul canale Youtube dell'istituto @CNRIAC.

I seminari si tengono sempre alle ore 14:30, per lo più a settimane alterne.

A Napoli dal 17 al 20 giugno la terza CINI HPC Summer School

Si svolge quest'anno a Napoli, dal 16 al 20 giugno 2025 la terza Summer School del Consorzio Universitario Nazionale per l'Informatica (CINI) sull'High Performance Computing, quest'anno incentrata sulle architetture innovative e sui più recenti modelli di programmazione, gli strumenti e le librerie, per sfruttare piattaforme eterogenee che incorporano acceleratori ad alto rendimento.

Il 2025 inizia con un nuovo seminario della serie Seminari Generali dell'IAC.

Martedì 14 gennaio 2025 alle 14.30 sarà ospite dell'IAC Stefano Ossicini, Professore ordinario all'Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia.

Il seminario, dal titolo L’invenzione del concetto di “razza”, si svolge come sempre in modalità mista, in presenza, nella sala al primo piano del CNR-IAC sede di Roma, Via dei Taurini 19 e in streaming (vedi link in calce).
